As per a media post, Pokémon has become one of the most successful media franchises globally, experiencing significant growth over the years. It debuted on the Game Boy in 1996 with Pokémon Red and Green in Japan and quickly expanded in the following years.

Alongside nine generations of main series games and a variety of spin-offs, Pokémon has grown into anime, merchandise, and other ventures.

Its broad appeal has made it well-known even among non-gamers, with Pikachu as its most recognizable figure. As the franchise recently marked its 29th anniversary, the company remains optimistic about what lies ahead.

While having the most recent discussion with the BBC, The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara indicated that the franchise has a promising future ahead. This is what Ishihara noted down, “If we keep our focus on our mission, Pokémon could continue thriving for its 50th or even 100th anniversary.”
