As per a former freelance TV producer, Paul Haggis allegedly assaulted and tried to rape her in the year 2015 at the Toronto International Film Festival.

A 2019 video deposition of the woman was watched by the team of jury in a Manhattan courtroom. She recalled her feeling in fear both emotionally and physically when the encounter happened.

Now, she alleges that Oscar-winning director and writer ‘Crash’ had tried to pursue her sexually after he managed to escape into her apartment building right after attending an event at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival).

This is what she said, “It made me feel like he was somebody not only to be emotionally feared, he was somebody to be physically feared,” she said in her testimony. “My personal well-being was in jeopardy. It was a terrifying feeling.”

Haleigh Breest has filed a public lawsuit on Haggis. As per her original complaint, the director simply asked her to perform oral sex on him. Afterwards, he raped her in his Soho apartment in the year 2013.

The above incident has also been testified by four other women who prefer to remain anonymous. All of them have accused Paul Haggis of the sexual assault.

After the petition is filed, Attorneys for Breest are currently using their testimonies to prove that Haggis’s rape assault was nothing more than behaviour pattern.

At the same time, they also try to create a portrait of a person using his “storytelling skills and fame to prey on, manipulate and attack vulnerable young women in the film industry”.

When the above incident was happened, Paul Haggis was 26 years of age. But as the night went on, she rather felt him to be following her in such a manner that looked ‘odd’.
