In Short:

  • The Trophy list for Monster Hunter Wilds has been revealed, and as expected, there are trophies tied to Gold Crown monsters
  • The Binoculars will now show the Crown size of a monster, reducing frustration during hunts
  • Monster Hunter players used to have to measure creatures from a 90-degree angle to figure out their size variety

With Monster Hunter Wilds set to release on February 28, its trophy list has surfaced, and yes, you’ll be tasked with capturing Gold Crowns.

PowerPyx, a site that specializes in PlayStation trophy tracking and guides, has revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds will offer 50 trophies upon release. Among them, two are Gold, 11 are Silver, 36 are Bronze, and players can aim for the ultimate Platinum.

The trophy list includes three dedicated to Miniature Crowns, one Bronze, Silver, and Gold, along with two focused on Gold Crowns, one Silver and one Gold.

Additionally, a Bronze trophy is linked to a Silver Crown, which can be unlocked through a Gold Crown instead.

If the thought of chasing Gold Crowns was making you nervous, there’s good news. Monster Hunter Wilds will include Binoculars that reveal if a monster is a Crown variety, and there’s even a Trophy for spotting a Gold Crown creature.

Gold Crowns, A Frustrating Challenge In Monster Hunter World

The Binoculars’ feature to spot Gold Crowns should make it easier for more players to achieve the Platinum Trophy. For context, only 4.62% of Trophy hunters on PSNProfiles have unlocked the Platinum so far.

Gold Crowns were notoriously tough to earn in Monster Hunter World, making them a frustrating challenge for many players.

Take a look at this Steam guide, which highlights the painstaking process of measuring a monster yourself to figure out whether it’s worth hunting for a Gold Crown.

In Monster Hunter World, players had to measure monsters at a precise 90-degree angle to identify their Crown variety.

Thankfully, Monster Hunter Wilds has removed this step, making the process simpler and shifting the focus back to what truly matters—hunting. That’s definitely a win.
