Proving his star power yet again, Tom Cruise returns with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. In India, where the franchise has a huge fan base, the buzz around this latest installment was intense.

The film was always poised for a great launch, with early estimates around ₹10 crore.

As ticket pre-sales picked up momentum, the figure increased to ₹15 crore. What remained to be seen was if the film could exceed these early expectations.

With other titles like Final Destination: Bloodlines and Raid 2 in the mix, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning still emerged as the top draw. It now holds the record for the best opening of the entire series.

Earning around ₹17 crore on its opening day, the film has kicked off on a high note, indicating it could be a major hit. Surprisingly, the release happened on a Saturday—unconventional timing for such big releases, which often opt for Thursdays.

Since the film premiered on a Saturday, the core weekend is limited to just two days, as Monday doesn’t offer any holiday advantage. A Friday release would likely have added ₹10-15 crore more to the overall weekend collection.
