Michelle Williams to Play Peggy Lee in Todd Haynes’ ‘Fever’ Biopic

American actress Michelle Williams will be crooning into the star cast of Fever biopic. The actress will be seen playing the role of the legendary singer Peggy Lee in the latest movie of Todd Haynes.

It was first confirmed by a leading Hollywood news portal according to which the Oscar nominated actress is soon going to star in the upcoming film. Reese Witherspoon will bankroll the film along with Christine Vachon, Killer Films’ Pamela Koffler and Marc Platt.

If the above projects gets the confirmation, it will be the 3rd collaboration between Haynes’ and Williams’.

Todd Hayne had previously directed Williams in Wonderstruck (2017) which is purely a mystery drama based on the novel Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick.

Selznick is also credited to have adapted the concept of the novel into a screenplay. Apart from Michelle Williams, the film had also starred Julianne Moore and Oakes Fegley in their pivotal roles.

Michelle Williams is playing the role of the late jazz singer Peggy Lee in the biopic. The screenplay is being written by Doug Wright. Even though, some of the names of the star cast has been revealed, the makers are still under discussion to assign crucial roles to others.

As per the sources, the discussion is already going on for the role of executive producers between Justin Lubliner, Billie Eilish, Maggie Baird along with the CEO of Eilish’s label.

Peggy Lee is better known as Norma Deloris Egstrom who was born on May 26, 1920. She is known to be a famous singer, actress, music composer. But the American jazz singer is best known for her sensational version of the song titled Fever that was recorded in 1958. Right from the childhood, Lee developed an interest towards singing along with having a melodious voice.

She then decided to take singing as her professional career and started singing at 16 years of age. At the age of 22, Lee got the chance to record her first hit music album titled ‘Somebody Else is Taking My Place’ when she was 22 years of age.

In the long professional career, the singer was nominated for an Oscar in her 155’s sensational performance in ‘Pete Kelly’s Blues’. The upcoming Fever biopic was already been in the development phase for long.
