It all happened when the famous director Ryan Coogler revealed that Michael B. Jordan consulted with real-life twins, which played a key role in him delivering two of his most impressive performances in Sinners.
Since their collaboration on Fruitvale Station in 2013, Coogler and Jordan have continued to work together, with Sinners being their fifth film partnership, as reported by People.
Being one of the fans, you might recall that Jordan takes on the roles of Smoke and Stack, twin brothers from 1930s Mississippi in the vampire thriller.
Ryan Coogler who worked as both writer and director simply shared that he brought in his filmmaker friends, Noah and Logan Miller, as twin consultants to gain insight into the unique dynamics of their sibling relationship.
This is what he explained, “They offered a lot of valuable perspective on the experience of being identical twins and the unique bond they share.” He added, “I’ve known them for years, and they’ve always used the same phone. When you’d call, you wouldn’t know which one would answer, but you always knew the other would be right there.”

Coogler reminisced about one of the “funniest” stories he heard from the Miller brothers.
“There was a time when they didn’t have much money, and could only afford a small amount of food between them,” Coogler recalled. “They would end up in physical fights over the last piece, not because they wanted it for themselves, but because they were trying to get the other to eat it, sometimes leading to an altercation,” as reported by People.
Coogler further mentioned, “The selfless love they have for each other was a major inspiration for these characters and played a significant role in what I believe are two of the best performances of Mike.”
In Sinners, Jordan portrays Smoke and Stack, who tend to return to their hometown in a dilemma to start fresh by opening a juke joint. However, they soon realize that a dangerous new threat is emerging—vampires who are determined to feed.
The star cast also features Delroy Lindo, Li Jun Li, Omar Miller, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O’Connell, Miles Caton, and Hailee Steinfeld, according to People.
