L2: Empuraan Faces a Decline In Performance At Box Office
The Mollywood blockbuster, which was released to great excitement, had strong initial collections.
As reviews and word-of-mouth remained mixed, the film started losing momentum after the first few days. On Day 28, it earned just 9 lakh, a further dip from the 12 lakh it made on Day 27.
According to Sacnilk, L2: Empuraan has accumulated 106.52 crore net at the Indian box office. However, the Malayalam version of the film will not reach the most sought 100 crore mark.
Empuraan Set to Fall Short of the Milestone
Manjummel Boys is the only Malayalam film to have crossed the 100 crore net collection mark with its Malayalam version alone. Given the hype surrounding L2: Empuraan, it was expected to achieve a similar feat, but that no longer seems possible.
Currently, L2: Empuraan has earned 97.23 crore net from the Malayalam version. Despite being just a few crores short of the milestone, it is unlikely to reach the 100 crore mark, missing out on this major accomplishment.
Achieving this level of success will be a challenge for future Malayalam films. Time will tell which film will be the next to hit the 100 crore mark with its Malayalam version alone.
