Veteran Hollywood star Kevin Costner is all set to return directing a period drama ‘Horizon’. It will be a period Western film and the upcoming project is going to be his first one after “Open Range” (2003).
As per a story published in “Wrap”, Horizon is going to be a passion project for Costner that was under development stage for quite a long time.
According to a report, the film will start production from the month of August this year. It’s based on American West’s 15 year long struggle before and after the Civil War expansion.

This is what Coster said in his statement, “America’s expansion into the West was one that was fraught with peril and intrigue from the natural elements, to the interactions with the indigenous peoples who lived on the land, and the determination and at many times ruthlessness of those who sought to settle it,”

“‘Horizon’ tells the story of that journey in an honest and forthcoming way, highlighting the points of view and consequences of the characters’ life and death decisions,” he added.
Kevin Costner is a 67 year old actor-director who is all set to act and finance the film through his own production venture titled Territory Pictures production. The film’s casting is expected to take place from the next month.
Costner is known to have previously directed a film titled “Open Range”, that starred Annette Bening and Robert Duvall in their pivotal roles.
He has also directed some more films like “Dances With Wolves” (1990) and “The Postman” (1997) which he both enacted, starred and directed the film.
The film was even nominated in 1991 for 12 Oscars at the 1991 Academy Awards. It managed to win as many as 7 Academy awards in the category of best actor and
best director award.
