Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, continues its impressive run at the box office.
On Tuesday, the film managed to garner over Rs 55 crore, boosting its total worldwide box office collection of over Rs 680 crore. Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala confirmed this achievement.
Kalki has entered the elite group of films including Baahubali, Baahubali 2, RRR, KGF Chapter 2, Salaar, and Jailer. As on Tuesday, the film has grossed over $12.8 million (Rs 108 crore) at the US box office.
Thursday (July 4) happens to be a national holiday in the USA. From Wednesday, the film is expected to cause a box office frenzy,” the industry tracker stated in a post. Kalki debuted in 3rd place at the global box office, behind Inside Out 2 and A Quiet Place: Day One.
During the first 3 days of its initial release, Kalki 2928 AD emerged as the top-grossing Indian film of 2024, exceeding the collections of Hanu-Man, that totaled Rs 350 crore globally.
Also, Prabhas’ latest film achieved the 3rd highest opening ever for an Indian film, garnering Rs 191.5 crore worldwide.

Looking at the domestic circle, the film is now ready to cross the Rs 400 crore mark. It grossed Rs 95.3 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 59.3 crore on day 2, Rs 66.2 crore on day 3, Rs 88.2 crore on day 4, Rs 34.15 crore on day 5, and an estimated Rs 27.85 crore on day 6.
On the other hand PVR Inox recently unveiled a new AR filter inspired by Kalki 2928 AD. This feature utilizes augmented reality to transport moviegoers into the film’s futuristic world, providing an engaging and interactive experience.
Under the direction of Nag Ashwin, the film revolves around a hunter’s ambition to construct a residential complex and achieve success in the Complex, governed by Supreme Yaskin.
Apart from the presence of Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, the cast features Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in their respective pivotal roles, with special appearances by SS Rajamouli and Vijay Devarakonda.
