Sony’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ is going to be a buzzy comedy where Jennifer Lawrence is expected to earn a hefty payday.
As the competition is going stiffer, Sony has picked none other than Jennifer Lawrence for a movie package.
The studio is known to have acquired a coming-of-age drama ‘No Hard Feelings’ to be directed by Gene Stupnitsky. It will star Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role. Gene Stupnitsky has written and co-exec produced The Office.
As per the updates pouring in, Stupnitsky is expected to write the script with John Phillips. He’s known to have made his feature directorial debut with ‘Good Boys’ (2019).
The plot looks all set in New York hamlet of Montauk. The story is known to describe Tom Cruise’s 1983 released movie titled Bad Teacher and Risky Business. It’s going to be a raunchy comedy that has been co written by Stupnitsky in the association of Lee Eisenberg who once starred Cameron Diaz as foul-mouthed instructor.
The upcoming project actually came to the surface a few weeks back. But the price tag of the project is making the makers feel desperate. It’s because Lawrence is looking to grab $25 million payday. Along with that, the fee of Stupnitsky is also somewhere in 7 figures.
It also makes Streamers to fall out quite early in the bidding process that actually marked quite surprising turn of events with companies like Netflix and Apple willing to spend huge on star-driven vehicles.
Talking about Sony, the channel was mainly interested in Feelings. As per the source, some top executives specially flew to NY (last week) to court Lawrence.
Now, the latest is that nobody knows what the final price tag for the package will be. But it is expected that Lawrence and her team might be willing to shoot in Montauk for a handsome package as per her expectation.
Please note that Lawrence is repped by Hansen Jacobson and LBI Entertainment. On the other hand, Stupnitsky is repped by Mosaic and WME.
