French actress Isabelle Huppert who’s the recipient of the famous Honorary Golden Bear is not expected to attend this year’s Berlin International Film Festival.
The latest is that she will not be able to attend the festival in person after testing positive for COVID-19.
Berlinale 2022 is basically has a great emotion towards Isabelle Huppert who’s also won the lifetime achievement award for the Honorary Golden Bear.
As per the latest Hollywood news, the 68 year old veteran actress has represented the Berlinale Competition as many as 7 times in a row. But now, she won’t be take part in the gala event after testing positive for COVID-19. the festival has been already announced.
This is what Berlinale directors Carlo Chatrian and Mariette Rissenbeek shared in their joint statement, “Considering that Isabelle Huppert is not feeling sick and she is willing to support the festival we have decided to go on with the award ceremony. As she cannot come, we will send our love and admiration to her home in Paris. We look forward to having her in Berlin another time,” they said.

The update says that the grand award function of the Honorary Golden Bear is expected to take place today. The entire ceremony is expected to take place at the Berlinale Palast as per the original schedule.
One of the Isabelle Huppert films titled ‘A propos de Joan (About Joan) is going to be screened as a Berlinale Special Gala afterward. The film was directed by Laurent Lariviere.
Meanwhile, ‘Berlinale Homage: In Conversation with Isabelle Huppert which was earlier planned at Berlinale Talents has now been cancelled.
