Gauri Khan, a renowned interior designer and the wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has ventured into the realm of hospitality with her highly anticipated restaurant, Torii.
Launched around Valentine’s Day 2024, Torii has quickly become a hub for Mumbai’s elite, drawing celebrities like Karan Johar, Bhavana Pandey, and Maheep Kapoor.
Now, Gauri has unveiled the restaurant’s breathtaking interiors in a captivating Instagram video, providing a glimpse into the opulent world she has intricately crafted.

Stepping into Torii feels like walking into a jewelry box. The bar area sets the mood with its striking red and gold décor, bathed in a warm, welcoming glow.
Red and green, symbolizing vibrancy and tranquility, are recurring elements throughout the space. Emerald green plants of various sizes adorn the walls, providing a beautiful contrast with the vibrant red tabletops and plush seating.
Gleaming low ceilings adorned with intricate light fixtures add a touch of luxury, while floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows create an airy, light-filled atmosphere. Gold accents shimmer throughout the restaurant, enhancing the overall opulence and sophistication.
In her video, Gauri explains the design philosophy: “Each element here has been chosen to create a warm and luxurious atmosphere. The signature colors of gold, red, and green are prominent throughout, creating an airy yet cozy ambiance.”
As per an interaction with Vogue India, Gauri shared her excitement for this new venture: “We’re just beginning; there’s much to discover. I’m looking forward to what this journey has in store for all of us, and I’m delighted to be on this journey with my friends and co-partners Tanaaz Bhatia and Abhayraj Kohli.”
