Garena Free Fire Ban: The ban on Free Fire and others came into effect after the High Court of Bangladesh directed the government to immediately put a complete full stop to these games as they are prone to adversely affect the mental health of children.
The court further issued a notice to the authorities and asked to give explanation in 10 days why not to declare them illegal in the country. If it gets implemented, it will be a setback to hundreds of professionals and gamers who actively play Free Fire.
The High Court bench of Justice Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Justice Mozibur Rahman Miah opened up with the above order after a writ petition was filed in this direction.
At this time, petitioners also suggested the court to create a committee with all the eminent lawyers, educationists and technologists to give their suggestion to BTRC to ban any such games like Free Fire and PUBG that are becoming a health hazard among children and youth.
