As fans gathered at the Alamodome for Shakira’s Friday night concert, they were unexpectedly held outside. KSAT reported that a venue representative cited “ongoing issues.”
Later, Live Nation confirmed the postponement was caused by structural concerns. They assured fans their tickets would remain valid for a future date and promised email updates.

Even before the postponement was confirmed, fans took to social media, venting about the unbearable wait outside the Alamodome in the scorching heat.
“One hour in line with temps over 90°F, people fainting—and no concern from @Alamodome or @shakira,” one user posted.
Backlash After Postponement
The announcement of Shakira’s concert delay in San Antonio only fueled fan frustration, with many taking to social media to call out her team and the venue for what they saw as poor event management.
“Canceling at the last minute? Really? 40,000 people left outside,” one person posted.
Another user questioned, “Why is this the third city where a concert is canceled on the same day? What’s going on with @shakira’s team and their planning?”
With similar postponements previously occurring in Boston and D.C., fans are demanding answers. The new date for San Antonio is still pending.
