Chhaava Holds Steady on Fourth Thursday, Aims for Rs 500 Crore During Holi Weekend
Produced by Maddock Films, Chhaava experienced a slight dip in its fourth week. However, the Vicky Kaushal-led film is expected to sustain its momentum on its fourth Thursday, coinciding with Holika Dahan.
The upcoming Holi celebrations may lead to increased footfalls. Under Laxman Utekar’s direction, the film has garnered Rs 495.15 crore in just 27 days.
Starring Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in key roles, Chhaava is expected to reach the ₹500 crore mark on Dhulandi (fifth Friday) or during the weekend. This accomplishment would secure its spot among the highest-grossing Hindi films in India.
Chhaava to Battle It Out with The Diplomat and Namastey London
Dominating the box office for more than a month, Chhaava has outperformed Crazxy and Superboys of Malegaon.
Backed by Dinesh Vijan, the film is set to go head-to-head with The Diplomat, arriving in cinemas tomorrow. Starring John Abraham, the action thriller has seen limited pre-release hype and is estimated to open at around Rs 2 crore
In addition to its current rivals, Chhaava will also contend with Namastey London, the 2007 romantic comedy featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, which is set for a theatrical re-release on March 14, 2025, after a span of 18 years.
Vicky Kaushal brings Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj to life in Chhaava, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale.
