Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have received interim relief from the Bombay High Court against eviction orders from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The orders pertained to their Juhu residence and a farmhouse near Pawna Dam, which had been provisionally attached due to their alleged involvement in a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme.

Shilpa, Raj Get Interim Protection from Eviction
It all happened on Thursday when Justices PK Chavan and Revati Mohite Dere provided Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra with interim protection as they challenge the eviction notices issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) before the appellate authority under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The above decision followed the ED’s commitment to the Court that no action would be taken regarding the eviction notices until the couple submits their stay application.
The Court clarified that no eviction would take place until the appellate authority renders a decision on their appeal.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously placed a hold on the couple’s properties during an inquiry into a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme, even though Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra were not implicated in the primary investigation.
They assert that the eviction notices issued by the ED were premature and infringe on their rights, despite the provisional attachment of their assets.
Legal Dispute
Future Court Proceedings
The interim stay granted by the High Court will remain active until the PMLA appellate authority in Delhi rules on Shetty and Kundra’s application.
Furthermore, the Court specified that if the appellate authority issues an unfavorable decision, enforcement will be delayed for an additional two weeks, allowing the couple time to seek other legal options.
The eviction notices from the ED were issued following the confirmation of a provisional attachment order on September 18, 2024, linked to an alleged Ponzi scheme associated with Amit Bharadwaj.
The couple received these notices on October 3, 2024, instructing them to leave their properties within ten days.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are now anticipating the outcome from the appellate authority, which will establish whether the eviction orders will be carried out.
