Salman Khan started trending on Friday after the release of his film Antim: The Final Truth. After the success of his film, the actor revealed how he managed to play his character quite differently by not surpassing the character of Aayush Sharma.
Aayush Sharma and Salman Khan starrer got a worldwide release on November 26, 2021. Right from the day of the film’s release, it created a buzz at the box office as it has got an overwhelming response from the audience.
By looking at the overwhelming response of Antim, Salman Khan chose to come out in the media to explain about his character. He stated that the character of sikh cop he played in the film was quite different on all previous occasions.
Salman while giving reply to a question whether he got nervous about playing his role said, “I knew in my head what I wanted to do with the character. I wanted to play it exactly how it was narrated to me. Mahesh also had the same thought. But when I started playing the character, I got scared, I’m not doing anything. But then I drew confidence from the fact that Aayush was playing his character in the way that I thought I should play mine. And if I would play my character that way too, then his character would have got suppressed.”
He further added, “Both of us could not have played our characters the same way. Aayush plays a powerful man but he has got that anger in him. While my character in the film sports a smile. Even if he’d exercise his authority, he’d do it with a smile. So he knows his power. Even when he is having a conversation with the politicians, he will still have a smile on his face. That is the way I portrayed my character. It was good fun.”
Salman was further asked if he would like to add anything else related to the character he played in the film. This is what he replied, “Mahesh and I, both had our inputs. I am playing an inspector and a Sardar in the movie. So I needed to be careful about my role. Be it any community or culture, I have to be careful about playing the respective role. You’ve got to respect the community and glorify them in the right manner. I’ve done that in all my films.”
In the end, Salman also shared one incidence when he hurt himself with the Kada (Thick Bangle) he wore. He said, “While trying to shoot for the scenes, that Kada hurts so much that your hands start hurting.”
