Varshangalkku Shesham Box Office Collection: In contrast to previous assertions, the title of the top Vishu release for 2024 doesn’t belong to Dhyan Sreenivasan’s ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’.
The latest box office figures reveal that ‘Aavesham’, featuring Fahadh Faasil, has claimed this title.
On its opening day, ‘Turbo‘, the action-packed film starring Mammootty, made a strong start, grossing over Rs 5 crore. Meanwhile, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’, a period musical drama directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, debuted in April 2024 as a special Vishu release.
Contrary to earlier assertions, the final box office numbers confirm ‘Aavesham’ as the top Vishu release of 2024. Starring Fahadh Faasil, the film has surpassed its competitors.
‘Varshangalkku Shesham’, starring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan, with a cameo by Nivin Pauly, enjoyed a successful theatrical run, earning it super hit status.
‘Aavesham’ Displaces ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ from Its Top Position In the Final Box Office Collection
According to OTT play, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ amassed an approximate Rs. 83 crore worldwide, with a detailed breakdown indicating over Rs. 38.70 crore from Kerala, Rs. 7.70 crore from other parts of India, and Rs. 36.5 crore from overseas markets.
Despite these notable figures, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ found itself overshadowed by ‘Aavesham’, an action-comedy directed by Jithu Madhavan and featuring Fahadh Faasil.
Released simultaneously, ‘Aavesham’ surpassed expectations by grossing over Rs. 155 crore globally during its theatrical run, solidifying its position as the fourth blockbuster of 2024.
This unforeseen success dethroned ‘Varshangalkku Shesham‘ from its leading position, establishing ‘Aavesham’ as the true victor of Vishu.
Initially, trade experts and industry insiders had anticipated ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ to dominate the Vishu box office. However, the resounding success and widespread audience appeal of ‘Aavesham’ led to its remarkable performance.
In summary, while ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ achieved commendable success and earned the status of a super hit, it was ‘Aavesham’ that emerged as the ultimate champion at the box office, claiming the title of the Vishu 2024 winner.
