In Bill Condon’s highly anticipated movie musical, Jennifer Lopez, aged 55, joined forces with Tonatiuh and Diego Luna. The film is adapted from the acclaimed 1993 Broadway show by the legendary Fred Ebb and John Kander.

Though initially ridiculed for self-financing the musical, Jennifer Lopez defied the odds. Receiving overwhelming praise and recognition for her efforts left her emotionally touched and grateful.

As reported by Variety, Lopez shared with the crowd at Park City’s Eccles Theatre, “This is the moment I’ve been waiting for my entire life. The reason I got into this business was because my mom would sit me in front of the TV to watch West Side Story every year.”

This is what Lopez shared, “I was completely captivated and thought, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to actually make that happen, and this man [Condon] made my dream come true.”
