Vishal Krishna Breaks Silence On Makutam: “I’ve Been Guiding the Film All This Time”

Although, it was not clear but as per the plans, Ravi Arasu was given the responsibility to direct the film. But at the last moment, Vishal decided to take the directorial responsibility on his shoulders.

Fans are looking this sudden change as a precise move by Vishal. But he doesn’t agree to all the rumors regarding his decision to direct the film. This is what he stated, “It’s me who was involved in ghost-directing the film for quite some time now. The decision to take on the direction didn’t come all of a sudden. I actually had taken some beginning stages of the shooting and decided to announce officially that this film will now be directed under my directorial debut.

Although, I never expected to take up the project in my hands, the situation let me this to happen. The decision to direct the film was taken not because of any sort of compulsion, but because of responsibility.”

It’s clear now that Magudam/ Makutam will not be shaping in the way as it was expected earlier. Take a look at the inputs given by Vishal in this regard, “I have a clear belief on cinema which I feel is a kind of commitment to your audience.

At the same time, it also brings a trust to your producers because of their hard earned money they invest on your film. The decision to direct Magudam/ Makutam is a simple way to make sure that the film doesn’t fall in any way and also to safeguard the efforts made by producers. If we are able to do so, the audience will get the best out of the film for which they spend their money.”

If you look the other way, its not the first time when Vishal has taken over the directorial role. You can find many instances in the past where he has ghost-written films. But this time, he would be taking it officially.

Vishal stated, “There are times when you have to take the decision in the interest of producers, audience, etc. This is the reason why this Diwali symbolizes for me. I don’t want to keep it a secret and it’s now official that I will be directing this film.”
