In the recent past, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has faced several criticism over some of his public comments. He was first called out in the month of May for endorsing natural birth over C-sections in reference to his daughter Athiya Shetty.
Now, most recently, his claim that “the husband should build the career” attracted further backlash. In a candid chat with Zoom, Shetty shared that Athiya often scolds him for such statements.
Suniel Shetty Admits Athiya Pulls Him Up for His Outspoken Interview Statements
Sharing a candid moment, Suniel Shetty said Athiya is always vigilant about his media appearances. “I stay away from controversial topics during promotions because I sometimes slip up. Then Athiya’s waiting at home, saying, ‘Papa, why do you speak at all? Just say no comment!’
She even tracks all my interviews and constantly reminds me to be careful. Honestly, she’s the one person I’m afraid of. Having a daughter is the best thing that can happen to a man,” he confessed.
It all happened when he commented on parenting roles post-marriage. “Marriage becomes a matter of mutual adjustment. After childbirth, if the husband is career-driven, the wife should handle the child. The husband will still be part of it, but today, there’s pressure from all sides,” he had stated.

Currently, Suniel Shetty stars in the new season of Hunter 2. The web series also features Jackie Shroff and Anusha Dandekar in their leqad roles, available for streaming on MX Player.
His upcoming project is Welcome To The Jungle, a film packed with big names like Lara Dutta, Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, and Akshay Kumar. Directed by Ahmed Khan, it is slated for release before the year ends.
