Forty years after the original hit theaters, a Spaceballs sequel is on the way, with Mel Brooks, Rick Moranis, and Bill Pullman set to reprise their iconic roles
Spaceballs 2 is on its way, and Rick Moranis, 72, is making his return to Hollywood along with Bill Pullman, 71. They’ll reprise their roles as Lone Starr and Dark Helmet, while Mel Brooks, 98, returns as Yogurt.
The sequel to the 1987 comedy classic is scheduled for a 2027 release. Joining the cast is Keke Palmer, 31, known for One of Them Days, according to Deadline.

Spaceballs, released in 1987 by MGM, was a satirical take on classic space sagas like Star Wars and 2001: A Space Odyssey. It earned $38.1 million at the box office and later became a cult favorite.
The film’s plot basically centered on the evil plans of Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) and President Skroob (Mel Brooks) to steal the air from the tranquil planet Druidia.
Hero Lone Starr (Bill Pullman), his loyal partner Barf (John Candy), and Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) emerged victorious. Joan Rivers and Dick Van Patten delivered standout supporting performances.
