According to the box office report, Sikandar grossed Rs 26 crore on its opening day, which was a Sunday. However, this figure didn’t break any records and is notably behind the Rs 31 crore opening of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
Salman Khan’s previous releases have set high expectations, with Sultan (2016) earning Rs 36.54 crore on its opening day and Tiger 3 (2023) recording an impressive Rs 53.3 crore debut.
The report also highlighted that Sikandar recorded a 20.95% Hindi occupancy on its opening day. It remains to be seen how the film performs in the coming days and if it gains any notable momentum.

According to Sikandar Movie a Review excerpt from Hindustan Times, “The screenplay and direction by AR Murugadoss are quite lackluster. The film kicks off with Salman’s entrance, but after that, there’s little to keep the audience engaged. The scenes, particularly in the first half, feel rushed, and the editing by Vivek Harshan comes across as uneven.”
The critique proposes that the film might have been more engaging if it centered around the reason Sikandar chooses to protect three particular individuals, drawing inspiration from the structure of Salman’s Sultan (2015).
The emotional resonance is minimal due to the film’s straightforward, predictable plot, and the second half could have unveiled this crucial detail to elevate the story.
