Marvel star Robert Downey Jr. has congratulated ace Hollywood star Johnny Depp over his victory in the trial against his ex wife Amber Heard.
The Marvel star while congratulating him said, “John, thank God it’s over”.
As per a recent post published on New York Times, Josh Richman, who’s one of the close friends of Johnny Depp chose to reveal his conversation with a group of Depp supporters during an event at Los Angeles. And this is when Robert Downey Jr. said, “John, thank God it’s over,”
Josh further revealed that Johnny Depp was going “stoic” in his hotel room in the UK. After the verdict came, all his friends and staff screamed around him.
It all happened in the year 2019 when Johnny Depp had filed a defamation case against his ex wife Amber Heard when she wrote for the Washington Post that she’s going through domestic violence. At that time, she didn’t mention Depp’s name in her post.
Again, in the year 2021, Amber Heard filed a countersuit of $100 million regarding some public statement given by Johnny Depp’s former attorney. He simply dismissed her allegations and even called them as ‘hoax’.
The trial between the two lasted for a few weeks and the final verdict came in favor of Depp where he was awarded $5 million in punitive damages along with $10 million in compensatory damages.
On the other hand Heard managed to win her counterclaims against her ex husband Depp and the jury chose to award her $2 million in damages.
