Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are deeply involved in shooting gripping night sequences for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War at Film City’s Joker Maidaan in Goregaon.
This phase of filming, which began earlier this month, emphasizes powerful monologues and dramatic confrontations.
With Vicky Kaushal also starring, the film showcases a significant collaboration under Bhansali’s skilled direction.
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt Shoot Powerful Night Scenes for Love & War
An industry insider revealed that this phase of filming is dedicated to crucial moments in the love story.
“The actors have been shooting from 6 p.m. and wrapping up in the early morning hours,” the source told Mid-Day.
Ranbir Kapoor began filming on November 7, 2024, starting with the opening sequence. Vicky Kaushal joined the team by November 20, and Alia Bhatt started her part in December.
The current shooting schedule is expected to finish by the weekend, after which the crew will move to some indoor scenes.
Love And War has been pushed back from its March 2026 release date due to delays in filming, according to Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
A source explained, “The shooting has been delayed by three months, which has caused the release to be postponed by the same amount.
After stepping away from the Eid 2026 window, the best alternative for Bhansali is the Independence Day weekend, which fits the theme of Love & War perfectly.”
Love & War is basically a dramatic action-romance set during wartime, sees Sanjay Leela Bhansali reuniting with Ranbir Kapoor after 17 years, since Saawariya (2007). It also marks his second collaboration with Alia Bhatt, after Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022).
This marks Vicky Kaushal’s first project with the renowned filmmaker. Ranbir and Vicky are said to portray Indian Army officers, while Alia plays a cabaret dancer, although exact plot details are still being kept secret.
