South Indian stars Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan have teamed up for a new film titled Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. Set in 1950s Madras (now Chennai), the film is expected to blend artistic storytelling with innovative filmmaking techniques.
Launch & Puja Ceremony
To officially kick off the project, a puja ceremony was held in Hyderabad, hosted by Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.
Social media posts announced the film with the message: “Presenting #KAANTHA, a landmark collaboration between Rana Daggubati and Dulquer Salmaan.”
Celebrating Tradition
Veteran actor Venkatesh Daggubati performed the ceremonial clap, symbolizing the start of production. He attended the event with his wife Miheeka Bajaj and father Suresh Babu.
Other notable figures included producers and Venky Atluri, the director of Dulquer’s upcoming film Lucky Baskhar. The event had a traditional feel, with fans expressing their excitement for the project online.
Anticipation Builds
Dulquer Salmaan praised Kaantha‘s complex narrative, describing it as a deeply emotional exploration of human relationships during a transformative period.
The film also stars Samuthirakani and Bhagyashri Borse, with the first look expected soon. Kaantha will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
