It all happened in 2024 when PlayStation launched its beta version that basically allowed gamers to stream different games to their respected devices without even looking at their PS5.
In the recent update, the above feature has been rolled out for everyone. The only condition needed here will be that you must be subscribed to PS Plus Premium.
PlayStation, via its official Blog, has labeled today’s Portal update as one of the most significant milestones for the platform till date. At the time of its 2023 launch, the Portal’s main issue was that users couldn’t play games natively, only via Remote Play.
This simply meant that your PS5 needed to stay switched on, and you couldn’t multitask with it while it was streaming to the Portal.
PS5’s Cloud Streaming Library Grows to Include Thousands of Playable Titles

Well, if you look deep into the matter, then this is not the actual case. The thing is that the beta phase of cloud streaming is now over.
And so, you can always use your device without being tethered to a PS5. Please be mindful that the entire liberary of games has now been increased to thousands of games as compared to earlier.
The cloud streaming beta of the portal has now been made compatible with 120 PS5 games. It’s done with some already selected titles directly from the PS Plus Classics Catalog added at a later date.
With the Portal’s full cloud streaming release, PlayStation has made huge number of PS5 games available to stream.
The company pointed to some games like Ghost of Yotei and Borderlands 4, but almost any PS5 title in your library need to be compatible with the above feature.
PlayStation Portal Lets You Keep Playing While Someone Else Uses the PS5
The new update managed to have specifically made the portal to handle PS5. Although, it was also possible earlier, but now it has become much more fast and superior to play games on the portal without using PS5.
If you have reliable Wi-Fi, your PS5 doesn’t even need to be switched on. Instead you can stream and play directly on your Portal from virtually anywhere.
