While giving an interaction to a well known media house, Nimisha Sajayan disclosed her future projects. This is what she has to say.

I found absolutely no reason to refuse the project. The idea of five women running a truck cartel was fascinating to me. Once I read the script, I immediately connected with my character, Mala, and was filled with excitement. Additionally, the involvement of Shabana Azmi ma’am and Jyothika Chechi made the project even more appealing.

Working with Shabana Azmi ma’am is a dream for every actor. As an artist, I’ve always aspired to be part of projects that give women the opportunity to stand out. This project, with its five powerful female characters, truly fulfilled that dream.

From what I’ve seen, the powerful female characters were portrayed by incredibly talented women. When you’re surrounded by such remarkable actors, it definitely boosts your overall performance.

Are you asking if I’m strong or impressive in my own way?

Witnessing Shabana Azmi ma’am perform right before me was absolutely mesmerizing. She has such a powerful presence, and there were moments when I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

As for Jyothika Chechi, many of my most cherished moments were with her. She’s an incredible actress and one of my all-time favorites. I shared a special bond with her and Anjali Anand on set, and I feel so fortunate to have met both of them.

What drew you to your character, Mala?

Mala happens to be a quite complex character with many facets. She’s a single mother who is fully committed to her daughter’s future, hoping she can achieve the dreams Mala never could. In one scene, when her daughter asks, “Mama, isn’t the TV a bit too big?” Mala replies, “No, dear, we’ll get a bigger house.

Mala is basically full of fearless, strong, independent, and bold. However, she also battles insecurities that she tries to hide by putting on a brave front.

She can be judgmental at times, but there’s a touching moment with Varuna (played by Jyotika) where, in an emotional conversation, Mala chooses to listen and understand rather than judge. This depth makes Mala a richly layered and great character.

What are you currently working on?

At the moment, I’m involved in a Tamil series, and one of my Tamil films is about to release, though I’m unsure of the exact date. I’ve also been a part of Soham Shah’s Crazy, which is already playing in theaters.
