Naomi Watts has joined the cast of the erotic drama ‘Emmanuelle’. According to Variety, Watts will star alongside Noémie Merlant in director Audrey Diwan’s new film, based on the character from Emmanuelle Arsan’s novel. The storyline revolves around a young woman exploring her sensual desires.
Emmanuelle’s character was previously depicted in a 1974 film featuring Sylvia Kristel. Watts confirmed her role in the movie through an Instagram Stories post, which has since been deleted.

Reportedly, the production of the new adaptation has concluded in Paris, with Watts and Merlant leading the cast, along with Will Sharpe, Jamie Campbell Bower, Chacha Huang, and Anthony Wong.
Merlant gained recognition for her role in the 2019 film ‘Portrait of a Lady on Fire’, while Watts was recently seen in ‘Goodnight Mommy’ and ‘The Watcher’. Additionally, Watts is set to star in ‘Feud: Capote Vs. the Swans
