At the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 (IFFM), one of the best known films will be “Mrs,” starring Sanya Malhotra and directed by Arati Kadav.

The film is set to have its Australian premiere at the festival, with both Arati Kadav and Sanya Malhotra expected to attend the highly graceful event.

“Mrs” basically tries to explore the complex life of a woman, played by Sanya Malhotra, who is a dance instructor.

Following her marriage, she navigates all the challenges of being a wife while seeking to find her own path. It delves into her journey of self-expression amid the societal expectations placed on her.

Mrs. happens to be the Hindi adaptation of the highly praised Malayalam film “The Great Indian Kitchen” that features Kanwaljit Singh and Nishant Dahiya in their respective pivotal roles.

“Mrs” has been produced by Harman Baweja, Pammi Baweja, and Jyoti Deshpande, It’s been presented by Jio Studios in partnership with Baweja Studios. Sanya has previously won the Best Actress award for this film at the New York Indian Film Festival and is nominated for Best Actress at IFFM 2024.

Sanya Malhotra expressed her excitement about the film’s Australian premiere, stating, “I feel honored to know ‘Mrs’ will have its premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.

It’s quite crucial for me as it reveals complex journey of a woman trying to find her voice in the face of societal expectations.

Working with Arati Kadav and the whole team has been a deeply rewarding experience. I believe the story will connect with audiences everywhere, and I can’t wait to share it with viewers at IFFM. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2024 is set to run from August 15 to August 25, celebrating its 15th year as the largest event for Indian cinema outside of India.

As the only Indian film festival supported by a foreign government, it consistently brings a variety of engaging stories.
