Minions: The Rise of Gru is an animated film which looks all set to become the highest film getter in the US.
As per the report published on Variety, the film has grabbed up to $108 million over the weekend which something exceptional. The spectacular run of the film is going to make $127.9 million by Monday.
Variety has submitted its report based on the box office estimates. It says that Minions: The Rise of Gru will soon smash the record for the highest film opening on the occasion of US Independence Day.
The expectation from Hollywood was mounting high after Disney’s Pixar film Lightyear couldn’t perform as per expectations.
The success of Minions: The Rise of Gru must have given a huge relief to the makers. At the same time, it was also to test the viability of an animated film on the bog screen.
Reports also suggest that Minions: The Rise of Gru has matched its predecessor in terms of the opening weekend.
The ticket sales was also one of the factors that led movie goers to make sure they are going to be entertained.
If you look what happened last year, the situation was quite worse as the overall collection on July 4 (Independence day) was $69 million. It’s because most of the theatres were non operational due to COVID-19 pandemic.
However, on the occasion of the week ended on July 4, the makers must have got a sigh of relief after the film collected $200 million at the box office.
It’s also being expected that ticket sales would somewhere amount between $190-$200 million from Friday and Sunday and is looking forward to make up to $250 million on Monday.
