The reason behind the sudden announcement is her planning to focus on her dharma. It looks like she finds no interest in name and fame any longer. At present, she is interested in spirituality.
The actress also revealed that she would probably return to Hollywood in the near future but only after satisfying her personal commitment.

It was on Tuesday when the ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp‘ actress shared her long Instagram post to reveal that she would be quitting Hollywood for now. In her Instagram post, she stated to be filled with loads of joy and gratitude.
This is what she shared, “Turning away from path of wealth and fame can be daunting, but following your dharma replaces that fear with a sense of fulfilment.
While Evangeline Lilly plans to step away from the film industry, she stated, “I might return to Hollywood one day, but for now, this is where I belong. A new season has arrived, and I AM READY…and I AM HAPPY.”

In her post, Lilly shared almost 20-year-old clip from the set of her hit TV show ‘Lost’. In the clip, she was asked where she saw herself in 10 years, and she responded that she hoped to be a retired actress, with a family, and involved in humanitarian work.
Evangeline and her partner, Norman Kali, have two children together.
