Madhuri Dixit revealed that she dared to agree doing scenes opposite a man who was twice her size in the film

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit will soon star in a psychological thriller titled Mrs Deshpande which will hit theatres on December 19, 2025. While shooting for the film, the actress talked about some sequences that she can nevr forget about.

Although, the actress has spent over 4 decades in the film industry, she continues to face challenges even at this time. This time, she had to face the one while performing her own action sequences.

Madhuri is performing the role of a self-defence martial artist from Israel. To be precise, the actress will be playing the substancial role of a serial killer who is presently convicted.

Even in the conviction, she comes forward to help the police catch a copycat murderer. But her condition to help the police is to work with estranged son, who’s now a police officer.

Recently, she had a chance to interact with a media house where she talked about her refusal to have her body double in the show, especially at the time of performing her stunts.

This is what she said, “I insisted from the very beginning that it should look real and one should believe that a woman who’s just a housewife is able to perform like this. Also, it has to look authentic.”

Choosing A Dark Role and Refusing to Hold Back

The surprising element here is that not many female actors in the past have agreed to undergo such kind of roles where they have to portray a unredeemable, and ruthless killer. But Madhuri is different who simply believes that audiences continues to evolve with time and the process will continue for ever.

This is what Madhuri Dixit explained, “With time, the audiencde has also changed their mindset about films. For example, the lockdown taught many lessons as most of them locked themselves inside their houses and preferred to pass their time by watching various global series and shows.

They started understanding how things and characters actually work. In short, the audience has now matured a lot with the kind of exposure they had now.” she stated.

The actress further stated that she always liked to break rules in her life, but for a good reason. She shared, “If you have a look at my entire career for a while,

I debuted with Abodh and then also worked in some films where I played supporting roles. Still, I managed to get a place that I desired. That’s the reason why I think rules are there but meant to be broken. To make that happen, we often require directors who think on the same pattern.”
