Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi‘ is now scheduled to release on time. As per the latest report, the makers have sorted out their issues and the film will go on floors from September 10. It’s to be released in three languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. It’s directed by Vijay.
The makers have also planned to release the film on OTT platform right after it gets a theatrical release. The decision has been taken in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, theatre owners have registered their aggression on this as they have to say that they will not stream the film if it’s released on OTT less than 4 weeks from the theatrical release.
The above decision by the theatre owners forced the makers to drop the idea of quick OTT release of the film. The latest is that ‘Thalaivi’ will now be released on September 10, as scheduled earlier. The booking will soon start.
In view of the pandemic, theatres are directed to open with an occupancy rate of 50% and follow strict COVID-19 norms as the pandemic is still not over.
‘Thalaivi’ is basically a film based on the life of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, whos role is being reprised by Kangana Ranaut in the film. Others who star in the film include Priyamani, Madhoo, Bhaghyashree, Shamna Kasim, Samuthirakani and Aravind Swami in their respective pivotal roles.
The film is produced by Karma Media And Entertainment and Vibri Motion Pictures. The music in the film is composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
