As per the latest Bollywood news, Mrunal Tahakur is going to share the screen space with none other than Shahid Kapoor in the remake of the Tamil film Jersey.
After the grand success of Jersey in Tamil language, the makers are going to remake it in Hindi language for the first time. The film is expected to release in August 2020.
Mrunal Thakur has now become a well known face in the cine world, especially when the actress stunned everyone with her spectacular performance in films like Batla House and Super 30. And now, she has joined as the lead actress of Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film Jersey.
This is what Mrunal Thaukar has to say about her forthcoming project, “At this time, I feel really excited to be a part of this film. I’m equally excited to work with Shahid Kapoor in this film. When I watched the original film by the same name, I was simply bowled over by the film’s overall emotional journey. After watching the entire film for almost two-plus hours, it made me realise that I have myself lived such a life depicted in the film,” Mrunal disclosed in a statement.
“After watching the original version of the film, I kept feeling the impact for almost the entire night as I failed to get it out of my heart. And this is what made me go ahead to watch the film once again. At this point of time, I simply can’t wait for Hindi audiences to have the same impact and feeling,” she concluded.
The great news about the Jersey remake is that the film is being directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed the original version of the film. And this is why, the film becomes so special for Hind audiences as well.
When Tinnanauri was asked queries related to the inclusion of Mrunal Thakur, this is what he shared, “From the very beginning, I had the name of Mrunal in the back of my mind. This is because I loved her performance in her earlier two projects where she performed outstandingly well. Finally, I decided that Thakur will be the ideal choice for Jersey remake as she is going to do all the justice to her role.”
Jersey happens to be the remake of Tamil language film by the same name that originally starred Nani in the pivotal role.
The plot revolves around Arjun who is a talented but a failed cricketer. The guy finally decides to go back to cricket in his late 30’s.
