Halle Bailey and Rege-Jean Page will star together in ‘Italianna,’ with Kat Coiro directing the project.
As reported by Deadline, the script was written by Ryan Engle and is based on a concept developed by Ryan Engle and Kristin Engle.
Details about the plot of Italianna are currently under wraps. The film will be produced by Will Packer and Johanna Byer through Will Packer Productions, under their first-look deal with Universal Pictures.

Halle Bailey, celebrated as part of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle, made her big-screen debut as Ariel in Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid in 2023. She later joined Warner Bros’ reimagining of The Color Purple.
Rege-Jean Page, who received an Emmy nomination and two SAG Award nods for his standout role in the first season of Bridgerton, appears alongside Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett in Steven Soderbergh’s latest film, Black Bag. The film was originally debuted this month through Focus Features and Universal Pictures.
Kat Coiro recently directed the pilot episode and a portion of CBS’s Matlock, starring Kathy Bates.
Also, she was nominated for a DGA Award and a Children’s & Family Emmy for her contributions to Roku’s The Spiderwick Chronicles.
