Today, a special NDPS Mumbai court came into action and rejected the pre-arrest bail plea of Karishma Prakash, who’s the manager of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. It’s related to the drug and was first came to limelight after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR).
Although there were many more arrested in the drug case, all have been freed by different courts. Even Deepika Padukone along with other Bollywood celebrities were also summoned at the time of the SSR’s demise.
Prakash had earlier filed an anticipatory bail plea before the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) court last year in October.
The decision came today after the judge VV Widwans heard all the points submitted by both the parties. And finally, he rejected Prakash’s plea for bail.
The court has also given time till August 25 to approach the Bombay High Court against the order given by the special NDPS court on Thursday.
You might be aware that NCB came into action last year when a drug syndicate was unearthed right after the sudden and unfortunate demise of Sushant.
The investigating body is precisely looking all the connections between drug paddlers and Bollywood celebrities.
It was Prakash whose name cropped up during the interrogation with the arrested drug peddlers. NCB has already arrested more than 20 people in connection with the drug case.
As we mentioned above, almost all accused whose name had surfaced earlier are now free on bail. One of them is Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty who is roaming freely after getting bail.
