Chris Pine, who’s a famous Hollywood star is all set to make his directorial debut from a film titled ‘Poolman’. As per the latest Hollywood news, the 41 year old will not only direct this film but also star along with others like Danny DeVito, Annette Bening.
For now, ‘Poolman’ is being marked as a cross between Jeff Bridges-starrer ‘The Big Lebowski’and classic LA noir films, with a hint of Damian Chazelle’s ‘La La Land’.
Pine is expected to play the role of Darren Barrenman. He will enact as hapless dreamer and a would-be philosopher who likes to pass his time at the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block in Los Angeles (LA) with his neighbours like Diane (Bening) and Jack (DeVito).

This is what the official potline has to say, “When Barrenman uncovers the greatest water heist in LA history since ‘Chinatown’, he makes uneasy alliances with a beautiful and connected femme fatale while following every lead he can with corrupt city officials, burned out Hollywood types, and mysterious benefactors – all in the name of protecting his precious Los Angeles,” it says.
Patty Jenkins will serve as the producer of the film. He’s known to have worked with Chris Pine on earlier projects like ‘I Am the Night’ and ‘Wonder Woman’ in the past.
Pine is known to have co-scripted the mystery-comedy film in association with Ian Gotler. He’s a partner under his own production banner named Barry Linen Motion Pictures.
Pine is expected to star next in Olivia Wilde’s ‘Don’t Worry Darling’. The film will co-star Harry Styles and Florence Pugh. He will also star in ‘The Contractor’. It will be a thriller starring Ben Foster and Kiefer Sutherland.
