Chitrangda Singh Opens Up About Doing Comedy In Housefull 5: “Getting Laughs Isn’t Easy”

“For me, this is the first venture into comedy, and I have to say, it’s quite difficult,” says Chitrangda. “I actually think making people laugh is tougher than making them cry.” She points out that comedy demands precise timing and restraint. “It’s a different ball game — everything has to be smooth so every punchline lands well. It’s about the vibe and pacing as much as the jokes themselves. Comedy is serious business.”

Chitrangda Singh shares that the film isn’t simply a comedy. “Yes, there’s comedy, but the script is layered with twists and turns,” she says. “My character will definitely take the audience by surprise.”

Chitrangda made a strong impression in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter as Nandini Basak, the unyielding Leader of the Opposition. Her nuanced performance reinforced her reputation for versatility and quiet intensity. In addition to Housefull 5, she’ll next be seen in Raat Akeli Hai 2, further proving her range.
