As per the latest Box Office report, Vicky Kaushal starrer historical drama titled Chhaava stormed past the Rs 500 crore milestone at the Indian box office in a span of 23 days.

The film’s impressive run, especially in Maharashtra, fueled strong weekend collections, making it Vicky’s highest-grossing movie. It further led to a treasure hunt near Asirgarh Fort in Madhya Pradesh.

Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama Chhaava has officially entered the Rs 500 crore club at the Indian box office. It became the first film of 2025 to reach this milestone, achieving the feat in just 23 days.

Laxman Utekar’s directorial, featuring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, showed impressive box office growth on its fourth Saturday. The film opened week four with Rs 8.75 crore and witnessed a 50% surge, collecting a whopping Rs 16.5 crore on Saturday.

The film started strong with Rs 219.25 crore in its first week and Rs 180.25 crore in the second. However, it simply witnessed a decline in the third week, earning Rs 84.5 crore. With the two-day earnings from week four, the total now stands at Rs 508.8 crore, as given on Sacnilk.com.

In response to the film reaching the milestone, Vicky expressed his gratitude on social media. This is what he said, “I thank you for all your love.”

The report indicates that the Hindi version of the film earned approximately Rs 503.3 crore, while the Telugu dubbed version, released on March 7, contributed an additional Rs 5.5 crore.

Now, capitalizing on the success of the Hindi release, the makers decided to launch the film in Telugu, screening it on 550 screens across the Telugu-speaking states.

Chhaava is basically a film inspired by the life of the courageous Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal portrays the role of Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj in the movie.

The strong performance of the film in Maharashtra has played a key role in its success, surpassing the records previously set by movies named Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Chhaava has become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-earning film, surpassing his previous hits, including Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (Rs 88.35 crore), Sam Bahadur (Rs 93.95 crore), Raazi (Rs 123.74 crore), and Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs 244.14 crore).

As the film approaches its one-month milestone, it has caused an interesting stir in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district. According to viral reports, many people started digging around Asirgarh Fort, searching for hidden treaHe went on to say, “I tried to look into the ongoing investigation with the help of SDM. If any coins are found with the individuals and it is proven they were discovered at the site, they will be considered government property.”sure.

The reports further indicate that large crowds gathered at the 15th-century fort, located about 20 km from the district center, in recent days, driven by rumors of a hidden treasure allegedly triggered by its portrayal in Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.

This is what the collector named Harsh Singh has to say, “I was informed that some individuals dug up fields in search of gold coins. I have instructed the sub-divisional magistrate to visit the location.”
