Bob Biswas is a Shah Rukh Khan production crime thriller starring Abhishek Bachchan and Chitrangada Singh to be directly released on ZEE5.
It was in the year 2019 when Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) production Red Chilies Entertainment announced a crime thriller Bob Biswas starring Abhishek Bachchan. The film is actually a spin-off of Kahani (2012) that originally starred Vidya Balan.
After the film was announced, the makers decided to complete the shoot in Kolkata amid coronavirus pandemic. Finally, the film was wrapped last year in 2020 but couldn’t be screened due to the closure of cinema halls.
Since the theaters are now opened in most cities with full occupancy, a number of production houses started opting for digital releases. Due to this Bob Biswas looks like to be going for an OTT release.
As per a report published in a tabloid, Bob Biswas starring Abhishek Bachchan will be premiered directly on ZEE5. As the release date of the crime thriller is still not made final, the makers are known to have been in the discussion for the same.
Apart from Abhishek Bachchan, Chitrangada Singh will also star in the film but her role is kept under wraps.
The upcoming crime thriller Bob Biswas is basically a spin-off of the same character that was earlier essayed by Saswata Chatterjee in Kahaani (2012) that starred Vidya Balan.
As per an update, Bob Biswas will be bankrolled by Gaurav Verma, Sujoy Ghosh and Gauri Khan. The film is written by Sujoy Gosh.
