Better Call Saul Season 7: Better Call Saul undeniably became one of AMC’s most successful shows. Originating as a spin-off from Breaking Bad, it managed to establish itself as a meticulously crafted legal crime drama, ultimately forming its own distinguished legacy.
The series encompassed six seasons, consisting of 63 episodes. However, the question remains: will there be a Better Call Saul: Season 7?
For those who recently discovered the series, it’s important to note that AMC has officially declared Season 6 as the final installment.
Despite its popularity, the possibility of an unexpected renewal remains uncertain. To get a better understanding of the prospects for Better Call Saul: Season 7, let’s delve into all the relevant information.
When Will Better Call Saul: Season 7 Be Released?
There is no official release date for Better Call Saul: Season 7. Despite the desire for more of Saul’s adventures, it’s unlikely that the series will be renewed for another season.
It’s crucial to note that the show did have the opportunity to conclude on its own terms, rather than being abruptly canceled by the network.
During a conversation with the Hollywood Reporter, series creator Vince Gilligan expressed, “You’ve got to know when to leave the party.
You don’t want to be the guy with the lampshade on his head. I know I was asked the same thing at the end of Breaking Bad, and I gave the same answer, but I need to prove to myself that I’m not a one-trick pony.”
Gilligan’s intention is not to overstay his welcome and to explore new creative avenues.
Nevertheless, he did mention that he can envision revisiting the Breaking Bad universe in the future, suggesting that spin-offs within the same universe are indeed possible.
Better Call Saul: Season 7 Cast
As the Better Call Saul Season 7 cast won’t be returning again, it doesn’t mean that they won’t collaborate on other projects in the future.
Rhea Seehorn, who portrayed Kim Wexler, expressed her interest in working with the Better Call Saul team in an interview with Consequence.
She mentioned, “I’m actively trying to work with people from the Better Call Saul family, particularly my producers. I’m trying to do something with Peter, and Bob [Odenkirk] and I have things that we are already planning to do together.”
Bob Odenkirk, known for his role as Saul Goodman, also expressed a desire to collaborate with Seehorn in the future. When asked about the possibility of working together in an interview with Vulture.
This is what he stated, “I like to keep relationships alive over the course of my career. It would be a dream to work with Rhea again. It can happen, I think.” So, while Better Call Saul has concluded, the potential for future collaborations among the cast and crew remains open.
Better Call Saul Season 7 Plot
Reflecting on the conclusion of Season 6, it looks like that there may not be much more story to explore in a potential seventh season.
The series also looks like to have fulfilled its role as a prequel, as it has reached and even surpassed the events of Breaking Bad at certain points.
While the narrative has naturally come to an end, this hasn’t deterred the cast from considering future “what-if” scenarios.
In an interview with Vulture, Rhea Seehorn shared her thoughts on a possible scenario in which Kim might return to visit Saul in prison and perhaps even find a legitimate way to reduce his sentence through practicing law.
However, Bob Odenkirk had a different perspective and disagreed, believing that it was a final farewell for the character.
This highlights the various interpretations and possibilities that the show’s conclusion has opened for both the cast and the audience.
