Ever since the Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR starrer War 2 premiered, it kept box office numbers busy. War 2 managed to perform quite well with the collections going up somewhere around Rs 8.50 crores on Tuesday.
It all happened in spite of low ticket rates along with footfalls going up. Still, the action packed film performed satisfactory on Tuesday as compared to Monday that witnessed Rs. 7.50 crores collection at the box office.
The above figures was in fact a huge setback for the makers as compared to the opening day of the film that collected around Rs 29 crores.
War 2 (Hindi) Rocks the Box Office Again With Massive Tuesday Jump
This slight recovery itself feels like a respite, given that Monday’s slide had made it seem likely the collections would touch the Rs 7 crore landmark, despite reduced ticket prices. As experience shows, when audiences turn their backs, films rarely find space to recover.
The midweek trend will be key for the film’s box office journey. With no major new releases, sustaining collections at Rs 6 crores could ensure a respectable second weekend.
But if the tally weakens to Rs 5 crores, reaching the Rs 200 crore milestone would become increasingly difficult. As of now, the Hrithik Roshan–NTR starrer has raked up to Rs 146 crores.
