“Well, I don’t believe we need to constantly project a perfect image based on beauty standards. We’re all just everyday people. I’ve been seen with oil in my hair more times than I can count, wearing the same slippers, house shorts, or even the same jeans.

My mom always calls me, telling me to throw those jeans out after seeing me wear them for days. But to me, it’s all just normal,” Rakul stated.

The actress also spoke about the rising societal obsession with physical appearance and its effect on self-esteem. “These days, everyone feels like they’re not attractive enough, and that’s a problem. What kind of message are we sending to younger generations? We’re creating confusion. They’ll start believing that social media defines reality,” she explained.

Rakul stressed the importance of redefining beauty according to individual values, rather than following the unrealistic ideals created by edited and filtered images. “We need to stop idolizing unattainable perfection and start embracing our true selves,” she said. Her comments come at a time when social media has a strong impact on how young people perceive beauty.
