Netflix’s Chronicles of Narnia adaptation is generating excitement, and it might even feature James Bond actor Daniel Craig!
Since its debut in 1950 with The Wardrobethe, the Witch, the Lion, along with C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia has become a cornerstone of fantasy literature.
The seven-book series, known for its magical adventures and deep emotional themes, has captivated generations of readers. Narnia, a mythical world overseen by the mighty lion Aslan, remains one of the most beloved fictional universes.
Now, Netflix is preparing to reboot The Chronicles of Narnia into a new cinematic universe, and there’s growing speculation about the cast, with Daniel Craig being rumored for a potential role.
The Chronicles of Narnia has had several adaptations over the years, with the early 2000s film series by Walden Media being the most memorable.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005) was a huge hit, followed by Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). Though further installments were ultimately shelved, the series still maintains a dedicated fanbase.
Netflix Negotiating with Daniel Craig for Chronicles of Narnia
Netflix’s Chronicles of Narnia reboot is already attracting attention, with Barbie director Greta Gerwig set to lead the first film. As reported by News 18, Daniel Craig, known for playing James Bond, is reportedly in talks to join the cast.
Deadline adds that Craig has been offered a role in Gerwig’s fresh take on the series, though details remain undisclosed. While it hasn’t been confirmed if he will officially sign on, the possibility of Craig joining the Narnia universe has generated considerable fan excitement.
Well, there are a few fans who think Daniel Craig could take on a human character, while others wonder if he might voice a prominent figure like Aslan.
In the previous Walden Media films, Liam Neeson voiced the majestic lion, and if Craig were to step into this role, it would be a major shift for the series. Another option is that he could portray a villainous character, like King Miraz.
Daniel Craig has already teamed up with Netflix before. He starred as Detective Benoit Blanc in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series, with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery coming out in 2022.
The third installment, titled Wake Up Dead Man, is set to premiere in the near future.
