Indie Wire reports that the movie’s official synopsis describes it as “an unconventional collaboration featuring the melancholy assassin Yelena Belova (Pugh) with the MCU’s most surprising group of misfits.
The film is helmed by Jake Schreier and features Sebastian Stan, known for his role in the Captain America series, alongside Florence Pugh and David Harbour from Black Widow.
Stan reprises his role as Bucky Barnes, with Pugh portraying Yelena Belova and Harbour playing Alexei Shostakov, also referred to as the Red Guardian.
Rachel Weisz and Laurence Fishburne are expected to return as Bill Foster and Melina Vostokoff, respectively.
The cast also includes Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov, de Fontaine’s assistant, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost.
Harrison Ford is anticipated to appear as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, now serving as the President. The film is set to debut in May 2025.
