In the gaming world, it is a common occurance to witness reports related to the highest rated games of the year. This is what I have seen multiple times in 2025 so far.
The frequesnt occuring of such reports have made me confused while tracking them every now and then.
Being a gamer, you might be aware that Hades 2 currently settles on a rating of 94 which was supposed to be the highest rating. But now, another report has arrived to change hands again.
As per the latest gaming news, the Game of the Year season has just been announced where as many as two new games are found to match the review scores of Hades 2.
These games include The Seance of Blake Manor and Arc Raiders. Both these gamers currently score a rating of 94 on OpenCritic and are expected to grab the rating of best reviewed games of 2025.
2025’s Review Leaderboard Sees The Seance of Blake Manor Take the Top Spot
As per the new reviews and rating process held recently, The Seance of Blake Manor has been named to be the best game of the year. On the other hand Blake Manor has been placed above the rating of Hades 2, which clearly suggests that this game might be having a much greater score as compared to Supergiant’s hit sequel.
Well, out of the two games, The Seance of Blake Manor mainly gives off a kind of serious Blue Prince vibe. It’s because Blue Prince happened to be the best reviewed game of 2025 (when reviewed earlier).
Looking at the recently added games after review, most of us might have expected this indie game to rank somewhere on the top. Out of these games, Arc Raiders has given a rating of 94 as well.
If you take a look at the Arc Raiders, it’s game that managed to pull a huge audience after it was launched but never managed to grab a score over 90 or higher.
Landing at its 94 rating, the game is now stepping into the Game of the Year spotlight just as award shows and media outlets prepare to announce their top picks.
It’s been quite a while since both The Seance of Blake Manor and Arc Raiders games have been around.
As nobody reviewed these games right after their launch, it was not clear about their actual rating. Considering all this, it now seems that it would be a miracle if both the games are able to keep their rating up to 94 and above.
