Movie Review- ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’
The movie ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ (YPD 2) basically totters between bad and good jokes. Like many people out there, Paramvir (Sunny Deol) surrounds between jokes that are sometimes good and at other times are not so generous.
So, in a way, the film YPD 2 can be called a joke. Isn’t it? Well, the movie itself is much like a purported comedy with as much as slightly less than half a dozen Deols by the name Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra.
The bandwagon also includes Lynda, who’s the daughter-in-law along with Karan (grandson). The film is no less than 155 minutes duration.
The story of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ doesn’t seem like its earlier part which was well versed and paradigmatic of Sunny Deol. The earlier venture was also at least stuffed with some story line and camaraderie.
One more thing which should be taken into account is the humor, shown in the first part seems to mock the individual images of the characters or at least ready to take a light-heated digs.
But the part 2 directed by none other than Sangeeth Sivan seems quite tedious and insipid. So, with such a scenario, no one is capable to rescue such a mess even if you insert the character of any dinosaur or dragon.
By taking a close look at the film, there are as many as 3 witty lines in the entire duration of the film. And of course, you might have come across with those lines.
Further, even you wait something droll to happen, you only get a few stale gags. One more thing which looks a bit awful is the duration or the length of the film which could have been much shorter.
If it had been shorter, the film had become much funnier than before. But still the movie still has its own moments. Like the one when Sunny sweetly sparkles “Suit Mera Laal Rang Da will rock shaadi -season”.
The film already has 3 pretty actresses but in spite of that, the film stumbles into a sort of blunder land. Each character is busy doing his own things.
For example, Paramvir starts working on one of the soft-hearted banks whereas ‘Suman’ (Neha Sharma) tends to walk through Banaras in much skimpier shorts that was way different as compared to what she wears in London.
Verdict– Well, as you can see that even the collective presence of Deols are unable to make this drivel palatable. Yes, you guessed it right! It seems so exhautable, loud and looks so cheerfully moronic that it hurts!
