Manoj Bajpayee Reveals How He Survived in Bollywood Despite Powerful Opposition, Blind Items & Politics

Manoj Bajpayee who’s a renowned name in Bollywood has recently revealed how he survived from all the dirty politics, blind items and powerful opposition that acted against him. The actor who debuted in 1994 opened up about his professional journey till date.

Today, Manoj Bajpayee has completed over two decades in the film fraternity and is a widely recognized name in the field.

There was a time when he was new to the industry and one assistant director torn his photograph. He was even asked to leave in an abrupt way. It all happened when he was about to deliver his first shot.

And if you look at him today, you will find the actor to possess 3 National Awards in his name. He’s one of the most demanding actors of Indian cinema today.

Manoj Bajpayee gave an interview with Hindustan Times and highlighted a few things while speaking about his Bollywood journey so far. In the starting he stated that it won’t be fair to gauge someone on the basis of a 15 minute interview. He put his desire to write his autobiography one day to let people know all he suffered during his initial days of struggle.

The actor said that he had gone through loads of ups and downs in his career. He also said that he never want anyone to be in his shoes, especially what he was 25 years back with all the struggles to survive.

He said that it was never easy to grab some good roles and films. Even after one of his films Satya became a hit, he never became a star overnight. He said that he was also made a soft target in the form of dirty politics and blind items.

Find out what he said in the interview, “What is bygone is bygone but at the same time, the industry has been a very competitive and cutthroat one. Anybody who is trying to come up with loads of self-respect and belief in his dreams, there will be people who will turn into enemies. They will expect you to work according to their dreams but in the manner I have been brought up, I was not ready to live their dreams, I was only here to live my own. It all clashed. Finally, I survived for 25 years in this industry,” Bajpayee said.

He further stated, “I am trying to evolve as an actor and person all the time, learning new tricks of the craft, honing my skills and trying to be a part of new storytelling. This is what I have always done and what I am doing right now. I am quite happy that by the grace of God, my journey has been miraculous. I survived all the politics, the blind items, all kinds of powerful opposition, and I am here. And I will be here till I would like to be. I am a tough nut to crack,” the actor said.

On the professional front, Manoj will be next seen in Dial 100 to be directed by Rensil D’Silva. In this film, Manoj is performing the role of a police officer who has to bear all the ups and downs at the duty when he receives a distress call from a mother.

The film will be released on ZEE5 on August 6, 2021 and also stars Sakshi Tanwar and Neena Gupta in their respective pivotal roles.
