Jyotika has been in the news ever since she featured in one of her films titled 36 Vayadhinile (2015).
Right after performing exceptionally well in the film, she is doing roles that are quite female centric.
While narrating some facts about her film career so far, she raises some points in explaining why she feels like a hero at the age of 41.
This is what she has to say about her new discovery at this age. This is what she has to say, “I will turn 41 this year and I feel like a hero now. Or rather, I am a hero at 41,” she says it all with a grim smile on her face.
Jyotika’s next venture is going to be a Tamil language film titled Ponmagal Vandhal. The actress looks very excited about her dream project which is slated to release directly on the OTT platform.
One of the top reasons why she looks so excited about this project as the film is going to be a female centric film. She further says that she feels highly overwhelmed to have performed in this film.
This is what she reveals, “Female-centric films don’t have large theatrical audience. I am happy that OTT platforms are really helping us in giving us that space during these times. This way, people from across say 200 territories/ countries will get to watch female-centric films. So, that’s obviously giving us a big reach, right?” she states.
Jyotika’s Tamil language upcoming film shares a social message for the large audience apart from being directed by JJ Fredrick. Later in her interview, Jyotika reveals why she likes to pick meaningful films in being a responsible person.
This is what she says, “I’ve been choosing films that delve into issues that are happening around me. People are always influenced by cinema, so I need to be responsible in what I choose and so, I pick such scripts. This is one such film, dealing with an issue close to my heart. I want to do films in which women are strong and are portrayed in a dignified manner. The way women are in real life, at least 80 per cent of the films don’t show them that way. Women are intelligent and multitask. So, I look for characters with intelligence in a script. I am also a mother of two kids and I need to be responsible. When we switch on the TV, I see what they are watching and what they are learning from it. I would want to set an example.” she clarifies.
